Ada berita telat di-update, mudah-mudahan banyak yang belum baca.

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Authorities in Hastings, New Zealand, last June 14 arrested four Indonesians suspected as being members of a passport forging syndicate, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said.

"The four - one man and three women, identified as ST (47), IR (31), YR (28) and SS (30), are now being detained at the immigration detention centre in Auckland," the ministry`s spokesman, Yuri Oktavian Thamrin, said on Friday.

The four would be arraigned in court on June 29.

The Indonesian Embassy in Wellington was now trying to gain access to the four to confirm their identities while it was believed they hail from East Java.

The four entered New Zealand with other people`s passports onto which they had pasted their own photographs.

Under relevant New Zealand laws, each of the four Indonesians could be sentenced to a maximum of 10 years imprisonment and a fine of Rp1.7 billion.
